@ashneel99 Okay so if you had a spasm it could either be weakness or chronic shortening. And here’s an easy way to figure that out. Look in a mirror. Do you have an extreme curve in your low back or do you have a flat back?
If your low back is lengthened (flat) you will want to focus on strengthening routines for it. If it’s shortened (excessive arch), strengthen the abs, and SLOWLY stretch low back. You could of stretched it too fast, causing it to retract as protection (spasm).

@AspireForHealth Thanks for your advice. Actually, I had painful muscular spasms on my lower back. It was this painful only once, but it still pains slighty now and then, and its darn uncomfortable.

@ashneel99 You gotta understand what stretching does and what your problem is before you decide to stretch an area. If the area of pain is lengthened and you decide to stretch it you’re only going to aggrevate the area. Check out the “everything you need to know about stretching” video on my channel.

I have cheer every single Saturday and they make me tumble using my back. (Back Walkovers, Back Bridges, Back Handsprings) and it only makes it worse. I tried explaining but they don’t understand because they’re dumb. Now what should I do because this pain has been here for months now.

Knowing there are steps you can take to improve your posture, muscle strength and general fitness can lessen the symptoms and possibly prevent Lumbago.

I do a lot of cycling and I normally get a numb lower back which goes to my bum as well but I think it is a circulation problem as it starts to hurt after a while, is there anything that I could possibly do to prevent it. I thought it was a trapped nerve but I wouldn’t go for a massage at my age, if you can help I would be grateful!

@MegaDotz Just do what you can! I’ve found that the pelvic tilts help a lot, even when I’ve just thrown my back out. Getting some blood flowing to that region helps. Don’t do something when it’s a “Bad Hurt” – Listen to your body. But at least moving something is helpful!
